About Our Program:
In 2003 EBOL began to provide free, professional legal services to immigrants through the Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON), a United Methodist Church program. This program initially staffed with volunteers helps immigrants navigate the maze of rules and laws that affect their lives in the United States. It continues today to provide a solid base for improving the quality of life for residents within our community. The success of this program is entirely due to the many volunteers who give freely of their time and resources to make every clinic successful and who provide the important links into the immigrant community. JFON provides an immigration attorney which is currently funded by the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Immigration Clinic Operation
The Emory Beacon of Light (EBOL) in coordination with and under the legal supervision of the JFON provides free-legal immigration clinics and services to low-income individuals and families throughout Washington DC. The clinics are held every 2nd Thursday of the month from 6-8 pm at 6203 Piney Branch Road, NW, Washington, DC.
